Sarneet and her partner, both busy doctors with a baby on the way, had just moved into a Victorian terrace in London, but instead of feeling excited, they felt overwhelmed by the endless decisions. The pressure was mounting, and Sarneet was left feeling deflated.

She turned to our Curated Room service for support. Together, we designed four beautiful, functional spaces and injected a modern style into their period home.

What we did

Briefing & Concept

To make the process feel less overwhelming, we broke the project down room by room. For the guest bedroom, Sarneet wanted to have a bit more fun than the other rooms. She liked the work of Studio Peake, known for their use of playful patterns and bold colours, so we took this as our reference point. We then created a look-and-feel concept board for each space to provide clear design direction and give Sarneet confidence in the vision.

Design Development

We then optimised her layout to ensure she was getting the most out of her space. Using the concept board as our guide, we sourced all the furniture and accessories needed to bring the design to life. We chose a blue and yellow colour scheme. We introduced playful contrasting patterns on the headboard, cushions and curtains, giving the feeling of a Studio Peake design without it being too much. We combined pieces in both a modern and traditional style to reference the architecture of her property, whilst making the scheme feel contemporary and current.

Final Design Pack and Shopping List

Once Sarneet was happy with the design, we compiled everything into a convenient, clickable shopping list, saving her hours of scrolling and second-guessing, along with providing her with all the information on how to execute her design at home on her own with confidence.

The Results

The result was a colourful guest bedroom full of character. A space that feels both modern and in keeping with her period home.

With every detail thoughtfully sourced and styled, the space now reflects Sarneet’s vision, a warm, joyful room that she's proud to share with visiting friends and family.

The Impact

Sarneet now feels a huge sense of relief and joy. What began as a source of stress became a smooth, enjoyable experience.

With expert guidance and a clear plan, she felt supported every step of the way.

Now, instead of being overwhelmed, she feels pride; her home has come together beautifully, and she can now get on with living her life.
